The GSW15P diesel generator delivers 14.31 kVA / 11.45 kW emergency standby and 12.91 kVA / 10.33 kW prime power from a Perkins 403D-15G, a three cylinder, 1.5 litre, naturally aspirated, water-cooled engine with mechanical governor and electric start. Output is delivered through a brushless Mecc Alte ECP3-2L4C alternator at 400 V, 50 Hz, three phase, 0.8 power factor, with class H insulation, IP23 protection, digital DSR voltage regulation held inside 1% and 86.7% efficiency at 75% load. Maximum current is 20.66 A behind a 20 A circuit breaker.

The soundproof canopy is built from modular zinced steel panels, fully sealed and weatherproof, with a residential silencer mounted inside and wide lockable lateral access doors on stainless steel hinges. A single detachable lifting eye sits on the roof, and the welded steel baseframe carries properly sized anti-vibration mountings. Noise is 58 dB(A) at 7 metres with a guaranteed sound power level of 87 dB(A). The unit measures 1800 x 850 x 1260 mm and weighs 745 kg dry.

The ACP automatic control panel is mounted on the genset behind a lockable door, with digital instrumentation covering three phase generator voltage and current, mains voltage, frequency, battery voltage, power in kVA, kW and kVAr, power factor, hours run, engine speed and fuel level. It offers four operating modes (off, manual start, automatic start and automatic test), remote starting, an automatic battery charger, RS232 communication port and password protection. Alarm and shutdown protection covers low fuel level, low oil pressure, high engine temperature, under and over voltage, overload, under and over frequency, starting failure, battery faults, three pole circuit breaker protection and earth fault.

Oil and coolant capacity are 6 litres each, and the cooling system uses a mounted radiator with thermostatically controlled belt driven pump and pusher fan. The Mecc Alte stator is wound to 2/3 pitch with a MAUX auxiliary winding, giving 300% forced current for 20 seconds for motor starting duty.

Ratings to ISO 8528, with engine performance to ISO 8528/1, ISO 3046/1:1986 and BS 5514/1.
