Pramac GDW Series Diesel Generators
The GDW Series is Pramac’s modular diesel generator range for standby and prime power installations – hospitals, data centres, commercial buildings, farms, mines and industry. Ten sizes from 10 to 815 kVA, each available as an open set or in a soundproofed canopy, built as a basic machine that you configure with exactly the add-ons your installation needs.

Designed for stationary installations
The GDW is the redesign of Pramac’s long-running GSW series, drawing on decades of standby and prime-power installations: easy to lift into place, bolt down, cable up and service for years.

Four lifting points in the base frame
Crane the set from four robust holes in the base frame – no lifting bridge to fit – or add the RLP roof lifting point option for single-point lifts.

Bolt-down ready
Removable screwed feet and punched holes in the feet and base frame let the set be fixed to a slab or plinth for permanent standby installations.

Front-bottom cable ingress
Power and control cables enter through a pierceable plate at the front of the base frame, keeping the installation tidy and the doors clear.

Metal air-inlet grid
Zinc-plated punched-metal inlets with an internal intake duct cut noise, keep heavy rain out and lift the enclosure's IP rating.

Separate control & power panels
Two metal cabinets – one for control, one for power – give complete segregation for operator safety and room for every breaker size your voltage needs.

Panels protected behind the door
The control panel sits inside the enclosure behind a key-lockable canopy door, out of the weather, dust and reach of unauthorised hands.

Easy battery & service access
Large doors, outside battery access, roof access for coolant and a manual oil drain pump keep routine servicing quick.

Every size is available as an open set for plant rooms and containers, or in the soundproofed zinc-plated canopy with hot-parts protection and insulated exhaust manifold as standard.

Fuel tank, starting batteries and – on the open version – the exhaust silencer are chosen as options, so you pay only for the configuration your installation needs.
Power ratings (ISO 8528)
ESP – Emergency Standby Power: the maximum power available in a utility outage for up to 200 h per year; average load over 24 h should not exceed 70 % of ESP.
PRP – Prime Power: the maximum power available for unlimited hours per year on a variable load; average load over 24 h should not exceed 70 % of PRP.
DCP – Data Centre Power: the maximum power available for unlimited hours on a variable or continuous load, for data-centre installations with a reliable utility supply (selected engines, larger sizes).

The GDW’s key feature is its modular structure. Unlike the old GSW, the standard machine is a true basic machine – you pick the control section, power section, fuel tank, exhaust, enclosure and handling parts that suit the installation.

Control panel options
Choose how the generator is controlled – prewired for a remote panel, wired, manual, automatic mains-failure or paralleling – then add remote monitoring, gauges and expansion modules.

Prewired Control Panel
The most basic control section: a compact cubicle in which all the engine and alternator signals are brought from the wiring connector to terminal strips, ready for connection to your own control system. There is no controller, no power wiring and no emergency stop button. It suits OEMs and integrators who supply their own control and switchgear.

Available for open and canopy versions. Combinable only with PCC1 (A10-B20). Not combinable with WCP, MRS, ACP, MPP, PCC2, GCB1/2 or GMB1/2, nor with any DSE expansion module or gauge.

Wired Control Panel
A control cabinet with all engine and alternator signals wired out to terminal strips, housed in the same full-size cabinet used for the automatic panels and paired with a proper power panel. Choose it when you want the GDW's power section and breaker but intend to fit or connect your own generator controller.

Manual Remote Start Panel
A manual control panel built around the Deep Sea DSE 4520 MKII controller, with a selector switch, integrated alarm horn and battery charger. The set is started and stopped manually at the panel or via a remote start signal; automatic mains failure is not enabled. A cost-effective choice for prime power, rental or applications where an external system commands the generator.

Automatic Control Panel
The standard automatic standby panel, built around the Deep Sea DSE 7320 MKII controller with selector switch, alarm horn and battery charger. It monitors the mains supply, starts the generator automatically on mains failure (AMF), manages load transfer and shuts down again when the mains returns, and also supports manual and remote start.

Modular Parallel Panel
A synchronising control panel built around the Deep Sea DSE 8620 MKII for running several generators in parallel with each other (multiple-set island mode) and for single-set parallel with the mains. It includes built-in governor and AVR control, load sharing, mains decoupling protection and full communications, and is factory-programmed for generator-to-generator parallel. Used with a motorised breaker panel (GMB1/GMB2).

Automatic Simple Panel
A compact all-in-one automatic panel for the smallest sets, combining the Deep Sea DSE 7320 MKII automatic mains failure controller and a 3-pole circuit breaker in a single small box. It gives full AMF and remote start functionality at lower cost and in less space, with a reduced range of add-ons.

Manual Simple Panel
A compact all-in-one manual panel for the smallest sets, combining the Deep Sea DSE 4520 MKII controller and a 3-pole circuit breaker in a single small box. The set is started manually or by a remote start signal. It is the simplest and most economical control option for A10 and A18 gensets.

DSE890 MKII DSEWebNet Gateway 4G + Antenna
A 4G cellular and Ethernet gateway with antenna that connects the generator controller to the DSEWebNet cloud platform. You can monitor status, alarms, fuel level and location, receive email alerts and control the set from a PC, tablet or phone anywhere with mobile coverage.

DSE892 SNMP Gateway
A DIN-rail gateway that links the generator controller to an SNMP network management system, so the generator appears alongside other IT and facility equipment. It can send SNMP traps and emails automatically when alarms or status changes occur, and supports SNMP GET for instrumentation and SET to change controller mode.

DSE855 USB to Ethernet Communications Device
Converts the controller's USB port to an Ethernet connection so a single generator can be monitored and controlled over your LAN or WAN through its built-in web server, or integrated into a building management system using MODBUS TCP.

DSE2157 Output (8) Expansion Module
An expansion module that adds eight configurable relay outputs to the controller, for signalling generator status and alarms to external equipment such as a BMS, transfer switch or remote annunciator.

DSE2548 LED Output (8) Expansion Module
A remote annunciator that displays up to eight LED status or alarm indications from the generator controller at a location up to 1 km away, with a built-in sounder that alerts on alarm and can be muted from the front button.

Toroid for Earth Fault Protection
A toroidal current transformer connected to the DSE controller so the controller itself can detect an earth fault and raise an alarm or trip. It is a simple, low-cost level of earth fault detection; it is not an earth leakage device and does not give the same protection as the ADI residual current relay.

DSE7320 Remote Display Module
A remote display that mirrors the DSE 7320 controller, giving the same instrumentation, alarms and control, including engine start and stop, from a remote location such as a control room. It simply copies the host configuration so installation is quick.

Engine Analogue Gauges
Traditional analogue water temperature and oil pressure gauges on the control panel, each with its own sensor, alongside the corresponding alarms on the controller. Popular with operators who like to see engine condition at a glance.

Analogue Hour Meter
A separate analogue running-hour meter on the panel, handy for logging hours at service and refuelling visits independently of the controller.

Fuel Analogue Gauge
An analogue fuel level gauge on the control panel fed by an additional tank sender, in addition to the fuel level reading already shown on the controller.

Voltmeter with Selector Switch (L1-L2-L3)
An analogue voltmeter with a phase selector switch so the operator can read the line-to-line voltage between any pair of phases (L1-L2, L1-L3, L2-L3) directly on the panel.

Remote Start and Stop
Brings the remote start/stop terminals out to the front of the socket panel so a remote signal cable can be connected quickly from outside without opening the control cabinet. Every GDW is otherwise ready for remote start via two terminals inside the control panel.

Commissioning Test for Synchronisation
A factory configuration and synchronisation test for sets ordered together to run in parallel with each other. The controllers are set up and the sets are tested synchronising in parallel before despatch, so they arrive ready for parallel operation. One CMT must be ordered for each set in the parallel group.

Back Synchro Parallel Panel
Programs the MPP parallel panel to re-synchronise the generator automatically with the utility grid when mains power returns. The controller continuously compares voltage, frequency and phase angle between the generator and the grid and only closes the breaker when all values are within limits, giving a seamless, break-free return to mains. Recommended for hospitals, data centres and critical industrial processes.

Power Cable Connection 1
Adds basic power wiring to the Prewired (PRW) panel: the alternator output cables are brought to power terminals together with the voltage reference wiring, so the generator output can be connected without a full power panel or breaker. It cannot be ordered on its own.

Power Cable Connection 2
A power cabinet with power terminals but no circuit breaker, for installations where the generator breaker is located elsewhere in the switchboard. The alternator cables and voltage references are wired to the terminals in the same separate power cubicle used for the breaker panels, and it is paired with an MRS, ACP or MPP control panel.

Genset Circuit Breaker Panel 1 (3-pole)
A power cabinet containing all power cabling and a 3-pole ABB circuit breaker sized to the generator. It is the standard power section for three-phase sets where the neutral does not need to be switched, and is paired with an MRS, ACP or WCP control panel.

A power cabinet containing all power cabling and a 4-pole ABB circuit breaker sized to the generator, so the neutral is switched together with the phases. Required for many transfer-switch and earthing arrangements and paired with an MRS, ACP or WCP control panel.

Genset Motorised Breaker Panel 1 (3-pole)
A power cabinet with a motor-operated 3-pole ABB circuit breaker, so the generator controller can open and close the breaker automatically. It is the power section used with the MPP parallel panel for synchronising and load sharing, and can also be paired with the WCP wired panel.

Genset Motorised Breaker Panel 2 (4-pole)
A power cabinet with a motor-operated 4-pole ABB circuit breaker that switches the neutral as well as the phases and is opened and closed automatically by the controller. Used with the MPP parallel panel (or WCP) where a switched neutral is required.

External Terminal Board
Robust copper bus bars on the load side of the breaker that make connecting your outgoing power cables quick and secure. It is included as standard with breaker panels rated 400 A and above and on all motorised breaker panels, and available as an option on smaller GCB panels up to 320 A.

Current Transformer
Adds the current transformers to the PCC2 power cabinet so the controller can measure and monitor phase currents, giving load current readings and over-current protection even though there is no generator breaker in the set.

Adjustable Differential Protection
An adjustable residual current (earth leakage) relay with an external toroidal transformer that trips the generator breaker on leakage current. Unlike a fixed RCD, both the sensitivity and the tripping delay can be set to suit the installation and coordinate with downstream protection.

Genset Suitable for TN-C System
Wires the generator for a TN-C earthing system, in which the neutral and protective earth are combined in a single PEN conductor, instead of the standard TN-S arrangement with separate N and PE.

Switch Breaker Trip
A safety interlock that opens the generator circuit breaker and disconnects the load if the power panel door is opened while the set is running, protecting personnel from live parts. A clear Plexiglas cover over the breaker incoming cables is also included.

Pre-Heating System
An engine coolant heater that keeps the engine circuit warm while the generator is on standby, so it starts quickly and takes load promptly even in cold weather. Pramac recommends it wherever the ambient temperature can drop below 3°C, and it is a common choice for standby sets that must start reliably at any hour.

Air Shut-Off Valve
An automatic air shut-off valve on the engine intake that stops the engine instantly if it begins to overspeed, for example when operating in an atmosphere rich in hydrocarbon vapours. It completely blocks the air intake, cutting off both the uncontrolled external fuel source and the air the engine needs to keep running, and is the most effective protection against a runaway diesel. Typically specified for oil and gas, petrochemical and mining sites.

Electronic Engine Governor
Upgrades an engine that is normally supplied with a mechanical governor to an electronic governor. The electronic governor gives more accurate engine speed control from no load right through to full load, which means steadier frequency and better engine performance. Worth considering where sensitive loads are connected.
- Only applies to engines supplied with a mechanical governor as standard (e.g. selected Perkins 400 series models)

Heavy-Duty Air Filter
A larger, two-stage air cleaner with a built-in high-efficiency pre-cleaner in place of the standard air filter. It is designed for equipment working in medium to heavy dust and lets the generator run in dusty environments while stretching out the filter service intervals. The clamp-on cover makes it quick to service.

Water Separator Filter (Racor)
A Parker Racor water-separating fuel filter fitted ahead of the engine's own filters. It strips water, dirt, rust, algae, asphaltenes and varnish out of the fuel before it reaches the injection system, which protects the engine's precision components when fuel quality cannot be guaranteed. Highly recommended for remote sites and long-stored fuel.

Water Separator Filter 2 (Mann+Hummel)
An alternative water-separating fuel pre-filter from Mann+Hummel, supplied complete with a manual priming pump. Like the Racor WSP it removes water and dirt from the fuel before it enters the engine, protecting the injection system when fuel quality is questionable. Its finer 4 to 6 micron rating suits smaller engines.

Double Electric Start
A redundant starting system for critical standby installations such as hospitals, shopping centres and banks, where the generator simply must start when the mains fails. If the primary starter or battery bank fails, the set can still be cranked from the second system. On GDW engines it is delivered as a second battery pack with a battery changeover switch (or a redundant starter where the engine maker allows it).

Oil Water Sensors
Adds a coolant temperature sensor and an oil pressure sensor wired to the control unit, giving alarms and automatic protection if the engine runs hot or loses oil pressure. The high-temperature alarm uses a Breaker Open and Cool Down sequence so the engine is unloaded before it stops, while low oil pressure triggers a shutdown. On CAN-bus engines these readings arrive over the CAN link and the option is already standard.

Manual Oil Pump
A hand-operated pump plumbed to the engine sump so used oil can be drawn out easily and cleanly at service time, without crawling under the set or spilling oil in the enclosure. A simple addition that makes routine servicing faster and tidier.

Coolant Draining Pipe
A drain pipe with a valve on the end connected to the radiator, so the cooling system can be drained quickly and cleanly for coolant changes or maintenance without removing hoses.

Low Coolant Level
A coolant level sensor that raises an alarm on the control panel when the coolant drops below a safe level. Catching a leak early helps prevent overheating, engine damage and unplanned downtime, and supports a longer engine life.

Data Center Power
A dedicated Data Centre Power rating declared for the generator in accordance with ISO 8528, in addition to the ratings on the standard nameplate. DCP is the maximum power the set can deliver into a variable or continuous load for unlimited running hours where a reliable utility supply is also present, and this declaration is required for Uptime Institute certification of a data centre's emergency power system.

Winding Total Protection
An upgraded protective treatment on the alternator windings for harsh environments. It should be specified where humidity is above 95%, in salty coastal or marine atmospheres, or where the air carries abrasive dust or chemically aggressive particles. The extra varnish and sealing keeps moisture and contaminants off the copper without any derating of the alternator.

Anti-Condensation Heater
A small heater fitted inside the alternator windings that keeps them slightly warmer than the surrounding air so condensation cannot form while the generator is idle. Recommended for any set that sits switched off for long periods, and particularly important in humid climates where damp windings can lead to insulation failure.

Permanent Magnet Generator
A permanent magnet generator kit fitted to the rear of the alternator to provide a clean, independent power source for the voltage regulator. It gives strong short-circuit current capability and a robust excitation supply that is unaffected by distorted or non-linear loads, which helps with motor starting and demanding electrical loads.
- Mecc Alte: available on ECP28, ECP32, ECP34, ECO38 and ECO40 alternators; PMG acts as backup to the MAUX auxiliary winding with identical overload and transient performance

Three-Phase Sensing AVR
Replaces the standard single-phase-sensing voltage regulator with a three-phase sensing AVR. Because the regulator monitors all three phases rather than one, it holds voltage more accurately when loads are unbalanced across the phases.

Automatic Fuel Pump
A fuel transfer package for topping up the generator's tank from an external bulk tank. It includes both an automatic electric transfer pump and a manual backup pump, so the set can be refuelled automatically under control-panel command or by hand if needed.

Replaces the standard pierceable metal cable entry plate with a rubber curtain and brush gland, so power and control cables can be passed in neatly without drilling and the entry stays sealed against weather and vermin.

Leak Proof Tray
A bunded tray built into the base frame that catches any fuel, oil or coolant that might leak from the set so nothing reaches the ground. A leak detection sensor is included and can raise an alarm on the control panel. A sensible choice for environmentally sensitive sites or where local regulations require spill containment.

A robust steel lifting bridge connected to the base frame with a single lifting eye through the roof, allowing the whole canopied set to be craned in one lift from a single point.

Galvanised Skid Base with Forklift Pockets
A hot-dip galvanised steel skid that bolts to the base frame in place of the feet. It keeps the base frame off the ground, protecting it from corrosion and damage, and its forklift pockets make the set easy and safe to move by forklift.

Feet Rectangular Tube
Two forkable rectangular steel tubes fitted in place of the standard feet. They stiffen the base frame for transport and reduce the risk of damaging it when the set is moved by forklift.

Industrial Exhaust System
An industrial-grade exhaust silencer for open (non-canopied) sets installed in a plant room or dedicated space. It gives a basic level of exhaust noise reduction where noise is not the main concern.

A residential-grade exhaust silencer for open sets installed indoors where a medium-low noise level is required, such as commercial buildings near occupied areas.

Critical Exhaust System
The highest-attenuation exhaust silencer for open sets, designed for hospitals, offices and other installations where exhaust noise must be kept to a minimum. It reduces noise by both absorption and resonance, using an expansion chamber lined with sound-absorbent material behind perforated steel.
- Exhaust noise reduction: 37 dB(A) (A10-B20, C10) or 35 dB(A) (B25, B30, C20, C30) at the exhaust outlet

Flexible Exhaust Compensator
A stainless steel flexible bellows section with flanges and gaskets that goes between the engine and the exhaust silencer on open sets. It isolates the silencer and exhaust pipework from engine vibration, protecting the exhaust system and reducing noise transmission into the building.

Exhaust Spark Arrestor
A spark arrestor on the exhaust outlet that traps hot carbon particles and stops flammable debris being ejected from the engine. It is a mandatory safety item in many industries where combustible materials, gases or dust may be present, including mining, oil and gas, petrochemical, timber and paper handling, agriculture and forestry.

Hot Parts Protection
Metal mesh guards over the engine's hot parts (exhaust manifold and turbocharger area) to prevent accidental contact and burns. It is fitted as standard on every canopied set and offered as an option on open sets.

Manual Battery Switch
A heavy-duty isolator switch on the starting battery circuit that lets you disconnect the batteries when the set is out of service, preventing slow discharge during long idle periods and giving a safe isolation point for maintenance. It is mounted in the common option tray so it is always in the same place.

- Nominal current 250 A, 12/24 V DC
- Peak capacity 2500 A for 5 s (A18-B20); 2500 A for 5 s and 600 A for 120 s (B25-C30)
Two switches are needed when Double Electric Start (DES) is fitted.
Genset Starting Battery
Because the basic GDW machine is supplied without batteries, this option adds the correctly sized starting battery or batteries for the engine, delivered fitted and connected so the set is ready to run.
