The ES8000 petrol generator delivers 7.2 kVA / 6.4 kW emergency standby and 6 kVA / 5.5 kW continuous power at 230 V, 50 Hz single phase, 0.9 power factor, from a recoil start Honda GX390 engine. The 389 cm³ air cooled engine runs at 3000 RPM with mechanical governor, and the brush type class H alternator, IP23 protected and two pole, uses AVR 520 electronic voltage regulation held inside 2% for clean power to tools and electronics.

The 11 litre tank runs 5.09 hours at 75% load and 3.83 hours at 100%, using 2.16 litres per hour at 75%. Noise is 69 dB(A) at 7 metres with a guaranteed sound power level of 97 dB(A). At 73 kg dry and 729 x 500 x 536 mm it shares the ES5000 frame, and transport kits with fixed or folding handles are available.

Controls are an off/on selector, recoil starter and fuel cock, with thermal protection and Oil Guard low oil shutdown as standard. The HAU specification includes 30 mA differential protection (DPP), a circuit breaker and an hourmeter. Outlets are two AS/NZS 3112 15 A 250 V sockets.
