Description
Pramac GQW1450V TwinGen – Containerised Modular Power up to 1.4 MVA
The GQW1450V TwinGen generator is a 1MWe-class, containerised TwinGen package built for rental and temporary-power users who need a secure, modular solution that performs efficiently across variable site loads. It is engineered to be long-lasting, with a layout that supports fast commissioning and straightforward servicing, while delivering high power density, improved efficiency, and reduced fuel consumption as load demand changes.
Designed around two generating sets in one containerised system, the GQW TwinGen features a soundproof, weatherproof container with insulation and service openings, a double-wall metal fuel tank shared by both gensets, a heavy-duty air filter, and a single automatic synchronising control panel that can run one or both gensets to match demand.
For serviceability, inspection doors and panels provide access, and key components can be removed for major maintenance when required (including generators, tank, cooling system and control panel).

Container and cooling
The two gensets sit in parallel inside a high cube 20 ft soundproof container, with four electric cooling fans and two radiators housed in a separate compartment to keep noise down. The cooling system uses electric motors with integrated inverters and water temperature regulation, a double LT and HT water circuit, metal piping with draining valves, thermal sensors on the hot water outlets and low coolant sensors reporting to the control unit. Fan profiles are optimised for efficiency and reduced noise, and coolant can be refilled from the roof via the container ladder.
The container has ISO lifting hooks on both roof and baseframe, forklift pockets, roof access by ladder, a metal anti-slip floor, and can be stacked two high in a warehouse. CSC safety approval is available on request.
Control and power section
A single main user interface runs the whole package through a 7 inch DSE8003 MKII colour graphic display, with each genset carrying its own DSE8610 MKII load sharing and synchronisation controller. The panel includes an ON/OFF selector, emergency button, adjustable differential protection and an insulation monitoring device, and can synchronise up to 16 TwinGen units together.
The power section carries two four pole motorised circuit breakers rated at 1000 A, one per genset, with robust copper bars for load cable connection, easy conversion of the earthing system between TN-S, TN-C and IT, multi-pin connectors in and out for paralleling with other gensets and a plug for auxiliary supply. Maximum current is 1040 A per genset and 2079 A for the pair. A socket kit with plugs and dedicated protections, and up to five Powerlock lines with individual magneto-thermal protection, are available as options.
Maintenance access
Large inspection doors on both sides give access to engines, alternators and starting batteries, with fuel and air filters remoted for servicing from the doors. Radiator doors sit on both sides, with a separate fuel maintenance door and a dedicated door for the fan motors. Each macro element can be disassembled for extraordinary maintenance: the fuel tank for cleaning or replacement, the sled carrying engines, alternators and panels, the cooling system, and the roof-mounted mufflers.
Standard equipment includes hot parts protection, heavy duty air filter, water separator filter, quick fit fuel connectors, leak proof tray, dual battery switch, internal container lighting with manual switch and a three way fuel valve. Options include a three Racor water separator filter kit, automatic fuel pump, pre-heating system, CSC certification, alternator winding total protection, a different canopy colour, Powerlock 5x400A output, socket kit and 4G plus GPS remote monitoring.
