The GDW780V diesel generator delivers 777.4 kVA / 621.9 kW emergency standby and 707.3 kVA / 565.8 kW prime power from a Volvo TWD1645GE, a turbocharged intercooled six cylinder, 16.1 litre, water-cooled Stage II engine running at 1500 RPM with electronic governor. Output is delivered through a brushless Mecc Alte ECO40 VL4 C alternator in parallel delta at 230 V, 50 Hz, three phase, 0.8 power factor, with class H insulation, IP23 protection, 95.1% efficiency at full load and voltage regulation held inside 0.5%. Nominal current is 1775 A behind a 2000 A circuit breaker. Data centre power (DCP) is rated at 707.3 kVA / 565.8 kW.

The canopy version is a weatherproof galvanised sheet metal enclosure with residential silencer and high quality soundproofing, giving 75 dB(A) at 7 metres and a guaranteed sound power level of 105 dB(A). Large lockable lateral doors open the unit up for service, and the welded steel baseframe carries anti-vibration mountings, screwed support legs and a crane lifting hole. The canopy measures 4700 x 1745 x 2533 mm and weighs 6034 kg. An extra silent enclosure with additional soundproofing modules is available for sites with severe noise restrictions.
