The GDW65P 500L tank generator is the GDW65P/FNE supplied on the MFT-L 500 litre sub-base fuel tank, delivering 66.3 kVA / 53 kW emergency standby and 60.1 kVA / 48.1 kW prime power from a Perkins 1103A-33TG2, a three cylinder, 3.3 litre, turbocharged, water-cooled engine running at 1500 RPM with mechanical governor. Output is delivered through a brushless Mecc Alte ECP32-2M4 C alternator in series star at 400/230 V, 50 Hz, three phase, 0.8 power factor, with class H insulation, IP23 protection, 89.4% efficiency at full load and voltage regulation held inside 1%. Nominal current is 87 A behind a 100 A circuit breaker.

The canopy version is a weatherproof galvanised sheet metal enclosure with residential silencer and high quality soundproofing, giving 64 dB(A) at 7 metres and a guaranteed sound power level of 93 dB(A). Large lockable lateral doors open the unit up for service, and the welded steel baseframe carries anti-vibration mountings, screwed support legs and a crane lifting hole. The canopy measures 2200 x 1020 x 1292 mm and weighs 1037 kg. An extra silent enclosure is available at 60 dB(A) at 7 metres.

On the 500 litre MFT-L sub-base tank the set runs 48.40 hours at 75% prime power. The sub-base tank adds 354 mm to the height and 216 kg to the weight of the canopy, so the unit as supplied is 2200 x 1020 x 1646 mm and 1253 kg (derived from the canopy figures plus the tank figures on the data sheet).
