A robust generator with all the features of a top class product: a powerful and economic engine.

The S5000 petrol generator delivers 5.3 kVA / 4.8 kW emergency standby and 4.2 kVA / 3.9 kW continuous power at 230 V, 50 Hz single phase, 0.9 power factor, from a Honda GX270 engine with electric start. The 270 cm³ air cooled engine runs at 3000 RPM with mechanical governor and a 1.1 litre oil capacity, driving a brush type class H, IP23, two pole alternator with AVR 525 electronic voltage regulation held inside 2%.

The 27 litre tank runs 16.27 hours at 75% load and 12.16 hours at 100%, using 1.66 litres per hour at 75%, with an analogue fuel gauge, bayonet filler cap, cup shaped pre-filter, fuel tap on the front panel and an in-line fuel filter. Noise is 69 dB(A) at 7 metres with a guaranteed sound power level of 97 dB(A). At 88.4 kg dry and 840 x 615 x 753 mm it rolls on two solid rubber wheels with a non-slip folding handle and two lifting points on the frame.

The tubular steel roll bar frame carries removable side covers with openings for maintenance, anti-vibration mounts, an incorporated starter battery, a residential muffler with spark arrestor and a quick instruction leaflet on the front panel for rental use. The CONN control panel carries a keyed off/on/start selector, pushbutton choke, a connector for the optional AMF or RSS accessories, a thermal circuit breaker, Oil Guard, a 10 A fuse and a 12 V DC battery charger output. What is the CONN connector for?

CONN models carry a connector on the control panel for the optional AMF automatic mains failure panel or the RSS wireless remote start/stop. The AMF panel monitors the mains, starts the generator and transfers the load when the supply fails, then stops the set when the grid returns. The RSS gives wireless start and stop from up to 90 metres.
