HSG20P-30 AU Hybrid Solar Generator
The HSG20P-30 hybrid solar generator is a compact Pramac package designed to deliver dependable 3-phase 400/230V, 50Hz power with significantly improved fuel efficiency by combining diesel generation, LiFePO4 battery storage and roof-mounted solar PV in one integrated package. It is ideal for remote sites, construction compounds, events, and temporary power applications where you want lower noise, reduced emissions, and smarter fuel usage without sacrificing performance.
At its core is a Perkins 404J-22G Stage V diesel engine paired with a Mecc Alte alternator, delivering 20 kVA PRP (16 kW) and 22 kVA ESP (17.6 kW) at 0.8 pf.
The hybrid package adds a 24 kVA (19.2 kW) inverter and battery system to provide additional peak capability, with a stated Hybrid Package Max Power up to 44 kVA (35.2 kW).
The onboard storage system uses LiFePO4 batteries: 6 x 4.8 kWh packs for a total of 28.8 kWh, rated at 48V, with a long-life design of 6,000 cycles @ 80% DoD (25°C).
Solar generation is integrated via three HC MONO PV panels, totalling 1,200 Wp (3 x 400 Wp), mounted on an adjustable metal roof structure, ideal when ground space for panels is limited.
Control is handled by a DSE M840 MKII hybrid controller, providing complete monitoring of the battery, inverter and PV panels, plus genset protection and event and performance logging. Operating modes include STAND-BY, JUST BATTERY, ECO and FULL, allowing you to match operation to your load profile and site requirements.
For site connectivity, the AU configuration includes a protected outlet suite with RCBO and RCD arrangements and individually padlockable isolator switches: 400V CEE 63A 3P+N+T IP67, 400V AUS 32A 3P+N+T IP65 and 400V AUS 15A 3P+N+T IP65, plus a 400V CEE 32A IP67 plug for auxiliary supply and battery charging from grid. Every socket has overcurrent protection and a type A residual current device, the 63A outlet using RCD and circuit breaker rather than an RCBO.
The weatherproof galvanised sheet metal enclosure is soundproofed with a residential silencer for 59 dB(A) at 7 metres, with large lockable lateral doors, welded steel base frame and properly sized anti-vibration mountings. Scope of supply includes document holder, plastic fuel tank, earth rod kit, starting battery, leak proof tray, battery isolator (MBS), three way fuel valve, water separator filter, coolant draining pipe, quick fuel connectors and heavy duty filter.

Is an automatic transfer switch (ATS) included?
No. An automatic transfer switch is not included unless it is listed in the product description above. Ozwide Power can supply a correctly rated ATS with the generator, so ask for a package price when you enquire.

How does the hybrid system decide when to run the engine?
The DSE M840 MKII hybrid controller offers STAND-BY, JUST BATTERY, ECO and FULL operating modes. In ECO mode the batteries and solar carry light loads with the engine off, and the controller starts the Perkins engine when the load rises or the battery needs charging.
How long will the HSG20P-30 run on a full tank?
On diesel alone the 80 litre tank gives 20.20 hours at 75% prime power, using 3.96 litres per hour. In hybrid operation the engine runs only part of the time, so fuel lasts considerably longer depending on the load profile and available sunlight.
