Pramac AMF – Automatic Mains Failure Panel with Connector
Mains down, generator up. Automatic changeover for Pramac CONN portable generators.
The AMF automatic mains failure panel (part number PY000A0000S) turns a Pramac CONN generator into an automatic standby set. Mounted on the wall beside your switchboard and plugged into the generator control panel through the supplied 8 metre control lead with CONNector, it watches the incoming mains and, when the supply fails, starts the generator and transfers your load to it through interlocked mains and generator contactors. As soon as the panel sees the grid return it switches the load back and stops the generator.
It monitors single phase or three phase with neutral AC supplies and is wired for 230 V single phase, 230 V three phase (3P+N) or 400 V three phase (3P+N) connection. Control is by a Tecnoelettra AT206 engine command and protection module with a digital display showing mains voltage, generator voltage, frequency and running hours, plus a programmable automatic test run (every 1 to 30 days, 3 days by default) that exercises the generator so it is ready when needed. The panel includes an automatic battery charger to keep the generator starting battery topped up, an audible alarm, an emergency stop button and external start/stop capability. Protection shutdowns cover generator voltage out of limits, battery voltage out of limits, low oil pressure, fail to start and external shutdown.
The panel suits Pramac portable generators fitted with the CONN connector socket, including the S5000, S6500, S8000, S12000, P6000, P9000, P11000 and P12000 ranges. Check that your generator control panel carries the CONN socket, or ask Ozwide Power to confirm before ordering. The enclosure measures 420 x 275 x 180 mm, weighs 8 kg and is rated IP20, so it must be installed indoors or inside a weatherproof enclosure by a licensed electrician.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which generators does the AMF panel work with?
Pramac portable sets with the CONN connector socket on the control panel, such as the S5000, S6500, S8000, S12000, P6000, P9000, P11000 and P12000. The P11000 with AMF listings on this site are supplied with this panel included.
Does it need to be installed by an electrician?
Yes. The panel switches your building load between the mains and the generator, so it must be wired to the switchboard by a licensed electrician in line with AS/NZS 3000 and your local network requirements. The generator side simply plugs in with the supplied 8 metre lead.
Will the generator run when the mains is healthy?
Only for the automatic test. The AT206 module runs a short test at the interval you set (1 to 30 days, 3 days by default) so the set is exercised and ready. Outside the test it stays stopped until the mains fails.
Is this the same as an ATS?
It does the job of an automatic transfer switch for these portable generators, with the engine start and stop control built into the same panel. Larger GDW, GPW and GRW sets use a separate ATS matched to their control panel instead.
